This last Saturday the Junior High ran at Poth. We had worked really hard during practice and we saw the results at the meet. Three seventh grade boys competed.
Johnny Gonzales 13:52 13th
Seth Elizondo 14:32 24th
Zach Rodriguez 15:50 32nd
Both boys teams started the race with cool weather but half way through the race the skies opened up and the rain made the last mile a bit slippery. The 8th grade boys placed 3rd as a team and were only 12 points behind the champion team of Pleasanton. We had two boys medal and these two remind me of watching Brandon Lacy and Sebastian Benavides run when they were in 8th grade.
Joshua Montes 11:59 3rd-Medalist
Paul Tomlinson 12:00 4th –Medalist
Eli Garrison 13:43 13th
Gage Eichman 14:44 26th
Cody Lopez 14:51 27th
AJ Marin 17:35 38th
Wyatt Conover 19:40 40th This was the first race Wyatt has run under 20 minutes. He probably would have been under 19 without the rain.
Saving the best for last, the 8th grade girls did something that has not been done since 2006. They won the meet and came home with the championship trophy. Two of the girls finished in the top 10 and the others finished together.
Clarrisa Cantu 13:18 2nd-Medalist
Erika Frazier 14:06 8th-Medalist
Jessica Cuenca 15:14 16th
Monique Covarubbias 15:43 23rd
Shelbie Elizondo 15:49 24th
Khloe Moran 17:10 30th
If you see our runners congratulate them on their great work. We have two races left in the season at Bandera. District is next Wednesday. We are working hard to try to represent Lytle CC well and bring home championships. Thank you to Coach Judge and Coach Ruiz for allowing me to take the Junior High to Poth. In the last 10 years we could not have accomplished anything without the fine support given by the transportation department. This is my 10th season to drive the CC teams across Texas and The Transportation Department has supported us in every mile.
