8TH GRADE BOYS

The young men took on a very good opponent in Boerne last night; both teams got good looks at the basket but missed a ton of shots. Both teams were unable to bring home a victory. Adan Ayala and Adrian Soto lead the B team with 5 points each; William Cogburn lead the A team with 10. We finished the first round of district play and are preparing to put up a good fight in the second round. Thanks for your support.

7TH GRADE GIRLS

We finished playing everybody in the district last night and one conclusion I draw is there is no one in the district better than us even though the record doesn’t show it.  Being talented is important but this team needs to learn to know how to win.  We have not learned to properly focus on the task at hand.  We get distracted by the moment.  The B team was outscored 11 – 13 by Boerne.  Kim Diaz led the B team with scoring with 9 points.  Ariel Muriara added 2 points on a nice rebound put back shot.  Alejandra Roja is a new addition to the team and she played well and filled in nicely for Jerrylynn Kent who was on the sidelines with a hurt ankle.  Once again in the A game we shoot the ball but we have not gotten the shots to go in the basket.  Jeanae Harden led the scoring with 5 points.  Abigail Garcia added 3 points.  Angelik Martinez and Isabella Syma added 2 points apiece and Mabel Rios scored one point.  The final score was Boerne 25 Lytle 13.  I appreciate Coach Wilson watching the game and giving the ladies encouragement at half.  We have played everyone once and are ready for the 2015 part of our season.  The 7th grade girls teams would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.
