The Lytle Powerlifters competed at the Pearsall meet on Saturday February 15th. For the girls, this would be final opportunity to qualify for the regional meet, garner a personal best on their individual lifts, total, and gain experience for next year. We brought home a 3rd place trophy, defeating some of the best schools in our region. Our girls kept their composure, showed mental toughness, and moved the weight on the platforms. We could not be more proud of our athletes.

Weight class 97-Chrissy Garcia placed 4th totaling 420lbs, weight class 132-Lauren Center placed 1st lifting all the way around personal best for the season totaling 825lbs, followed by Emily Guerrero placing 4th lifting her personal best with a total of 685lbs, weight class 148-Rosie Hernandez placed 12th totaling 630lbs, weight class 181-Reann Silvas placed 3rd lifting her personal best for the season with a total of 740lbs, followed by Makenia Frausto placing 8th totaling 645lbs, weight class 198-Jessica Soto placed 7th totaling 655lbs, and weight class 220+-Abi Carrillo placed 2nd lifting her personal best with a total of 835lbs.

The boys finished first at the meet. They continue to work hard day in and day out. It is rewarding to watch the "veterans" lead and the younger boys learn from them. We have several boys who have an opportunity to qualify for the regional meet.
