8th Boys

The 8th grade boys had a party on the courts last night versus Crystal City winning both games by double digit. The tough defense of the B team, lead by Isaiah Gomez, gave the Pirates a 31-14 victory. The A team started the game on a 9-0 run and never looked back from that point.  Junior Covarrubias, who came up a few inches short on a dunk during the game, lead the team with 14 points. The Pirates ended the night with a 43-24 win.  The boys last game will be Monday here at home. Come see the show (cheaper than rodeo tickets).

8th Girls

Our lady pirates traveled to Crystal City last night unfortunately both A and B team lost.

B team score 10-6
B team tied it up 6-6 in the last minute of the game, but Crystal City made two quick baskets within the last few seconds of the game to take over.

A team score 30-17
Fighting through adversity with 3 girls injured we finished the game with 7 girls, but unfortunately we were unable to pull through.

It's been a wonderful season coaching these girls up and definitely looking forward to watching them grow in every aspect. We are very proud of these girls! Thank you again for all of your support.

7th Girls

The Lady Pirates played their final game as 7th graders in Crystal City. Both A and B team ended up falling to the Javelinas.
B Team lost 15-2. Monica Vela scored the basket for the Pirates.
A Team lost 29-8. Mercedes Espinoza scored 5 of the 8 points. Alexis Rodriguez had 2 and Jessica Cuenca had 1.
Both games had their ups and downs. It’s been awesome seeing each girl grow not only as basketball players, but as young ladies as well. Thank you for your support through the season. And as always, Go Pirates!
