The Lytle CC team opened up the season on Saturday in Boerne at Boerne Champion's Key to the Hills meet. Competing against teams such as New Braunfels, Antonian, NB Canyon, Reagan, Champion, Clark, just to name a few. Our young team did well after working hard all summer. Out of our 21 CC runners all the boys and only 3 girls did not show up to our summer strength and conditioning program. Though we are young...we learned what it takes to compete at a high level.

We had two medalist after not medaling at all last year in the same meet.  Natalie Cortez finished 7th in a very, very competitive field.  Last year she finished 23rd at that meet.  Jethro Stokes also medaled after a slow start and finished 9th after placing 20th last year.  We have a lot of work to do and after winning the boys State Championship last year we will be hard pressed to place higher than 5th in our district this year in both the boys and the girls varsity division.  But we worked hard during the summer and hope that by district it will all pay off.  We hope that you can find the time to come out and support our team sometime throughout the year.  Our next meet is another tough one as we travel to New Braunfels on Saturday to compete against pretty much the same teams.  Thanks for all your support.
