The Lytle Pirates hosted the Hondo Owls Friday night. The Pirates stayed true to form and played a very good first half taking a 19 to 13 lead at the break. The third quarter has been a struggle for us all year but the boys held it together and stayed even with the Owls. Our motto all year has been to play are hearts out for 3 and half quarters and then we would look up at the scoreboard to see where we stand. As we do every game we looked and saw we had the lead. The boys were very motivated to keep the lead and go for a win. Although we struggled to hit free throws down the stretch our defensive effort never faltered and we were able to come away with the victory. The Pirates were led in scoring by Dan Morales  with 12 and Raul Vasquez with 11. Matt Frias and Bryan Bippert pitched in with 8 and 6 respectively. I cant say enough about these boys and the effort they give day in and day out. Thank you for your continued support. The Pirates host the Devine Warhorses Tuesday at 7:30.

Lytle 37, Hondo 32

The freshmen boys bounced back with a win Friday night versus Hondo.  I was eager to see how the boys would respond after a tough loss to Fredericksburg and I must say the guys played a much better game defensively keeping Hondo out of the lane and limiting their second chance opportunities.  The boys will face Devine Tuesday night at 6:15.  Hope to see you all there.
