Last Friday the boys traveled to Marion and played two games. Coming off two tough days of practice I felt that the team was ready to compete at a higher level than what they had been doing in the previous four games. In the first game versus Marion the guys got off to a slow start offensively which I expected because we have not been making many shots in practice. On the other hand our defense was pretty stingy only giving up 30 points through three quarters. At the start of the fourth quarter we were leading 32-30, but ended up letting it slip away due to lazy defense and turnovers. The second game we faced Moulton and ended up losing by four points. This was a good sign for what is to come for our boys because after losing 70-16 versus Medina Valley we had to shake things up at practice and it seems to have worked. We will travel to Natalia tomorrow and attempt to tame the Mustangs as we look to secure our first win.
