After a one-day rain delay, Manuel Carrillo and Ops were able to get us up and running to host Jourdanton last night for Lytle Pirate Softball's opening scrimmages of the season.  JV kicked it off with a 3-0 victory, racked up a great pitching performance, a line drive off the fence and several girls were able to get their feet wet (literally) in some game situations.  Varsity played the night cap and jumped to a 5-0 lead with aggressive baserunning and timely hitting.  We closed out the 5-3 victory with shutdown pitching.

40 girls are competing for spots on our teams, but last night was a great start in planting the seeds for this year's lineups.  Intersquad scrimmages continue this weekend and we travel to Alamo Heights next Tuesday.
