The Lytle Pirates played host the Fredericksburg Billies Friday night. The Pirates once again came out strong and were able to keep pace with the Billies. The boys have played really well at home and Friday was no exception. At the half only down 2 gave the boys a bit confidence as we prepared for the 3rd quarter which has been a nuisance all year long. We continued to play tough on defense but as in any game teams tend to go on runs and the Billies did just that knocking four 3 point shots in the quarter putting the Pirates down by 11. The intensity of the 4th quarter was high as we pulled within 6 with 1:30 left on the clock. The pirates were forced to foul and Fredericksburg was able to knock down free throws. Even though this was a disappointing loss I am very proud of the effort. We will travel to Hondo on Tuesday February 10th, game time is 7:30. Thank you for your support.

LHS 45 - FHS 55

Lytle 23, Fredericksburg 56.

The boys bounced back from Bandera's buzzer beater to defeat Fredericksburg by twenty points last Friday.  The Billies beat us the first time around by fifteen points so I was hoping the boys came out focused and ready to play. I must say I was proud of the guys for their first half defensive performance holding the Billies to four points.  We will take on Hondo tomorrow at 6:15pm in Hondo.  This win brings us to 16-3; 5-2
