The Lytle Pirates Powerlifting team traveled to Medina Valley on Saturday for a meet and made Lytle proud! We had some tough competitors but dedication and hard work kept us on top. Both our boys and girls team came back to Lytle with plaques in hand!

The Boys team earned the championship, finishing 1st as a team  out of 18 teams, and our Lady Pirates received the runner up plaque, finishing 2nd out of 15 teams. 

We also had several students hit new personal records.

Our medalists are as followed:

Emily Guerrero - 2nd  for the 148 lb division            Joshua Macat – 1st for the 275 lb division

Jessica Soto – 2nd for the 220 lb division                 Jonathan Darby – 1st for the 198 lb division

Katelin Van Dong – 3rd for the 198 lb division       Maverick Graham – 2nd for the 123 lb division

Seth Aguinaga – 3rd for the 123 lb division

Paige Kruciak was named the 2nd place best overall lifter for the girls division.

Jonathan Darby was named the 2nd place best overall lifter and Joshua Macat was named 3rd overall best lifter for the boys division.

Other placers were:

Sarah Jimenez – 7th for the 123 lb division             Paul Castro – 4th for the 198 lb division

Rosie Hernandez – 7th for the 132 lb division

Kalia Bush-Loo – 12th for the 132 lb division
