The odds of playing seemed slim with the gloomy afternoon weather, yet somehow, the rain magically cleared at 4:45 in time for the JV game to take place and it was an exciting matchup that saw your Pirates continue their win streak with an exciting 11-7 victory over neighboring Devine.

For the nightcap, we got the field back in shape ready for the varsity game complete with a packed crowd.  Lytle took early control in the bottom of the 1st inning.  With Tatianna Flores on second base, Macy Smith launched a home run over the left center field fence to put the Pirates up 2-0.  Devine battled back with 2 runs to tie the game up.  After a back and forth scoreless stretch, Smith cranked a double to reach second base in the bottom of the 6th.  Carli Diver followed up with a double of her own and the Pirates took a 3-2 lead to the 7th.  The defense held after allowing 2 runners and completed the victory for the home team.

Lytle is now 12-4 overall with a 1-0 record in district play.  They will challenge the weather again this Friday with a road trip to Boerne for games at 5 and 7.  Thanks to all for your support!
