It may have been miserable outside, but the Lytle Pirate softballers battled in the weather-shortened Pearsall Tournament with 3 great games on Friday in the 37 degree wind fest. The girls opened up with wins over Sabinal 3-2, Medina 11-1 and faced a familiar Jourdanton team in the night cap. A back and forth game saw the Pirates literally run out of time as they had the tying run on second with 1 out in the 4th inning before the pool game clock expired giving Jourdanton a 4-3 victory.
The girls were set to make a run in Saturday's bracket before the weather caused a cancellation of day two, including JV's first tournament. I am proud of the mental makeup of our team in fighting adverse playing conditions and look forward to hosting Crystal City tomorrow and traveling to Dilley Friday/Sat for our last tournament of the year.
