Lytle Pirate softball kicked off their regular season with a 4-1 record in the Jourdanton Brush Country Bash this weekend. After dropping the opening game to Jourdanton 7-2, the Pirates confidently rebounded with 4 straight wins, outscoring their opponents 30-1.
The girls' streak included victories over Laredo Martin 15-0, Jourdanton B 9-1, Ingram 5-0 and a 1-0 thriller over Ingleside. 4 pitchers kept our opponents in check while the lineup consistently made great strides in generating offense and put runs across the plate.
Both teams will be traveling to play Incarnate Word High School Tuesday. In a slight schedule change, the JV will play at Incarnate Word High School at 5, then travel across the highway to the Incarnate Word University college field for the varsity contest upon completion. Incarnate Word High School is at 281 and Hildebrand on the west side of 281 and the college field is 281 and Hildebrand on the east side of 281.
