Lytle Pirate Softball made the most of their last district road trip to Boerne on Friday with an 8-3 victory to get back on track following a home loss to Devine earlier in the week.

Both teams battled scoreless early until the Pirates were able to take advantage of a 2-out error and pump in 6 runs in the top of the 3rd inning.  Boerne scratched across 1 in the bottom of the 3rd, but Lytle added another 2 runs in the top of the 4th.  Boerne's comeback attempt in the bottom of the 7th was halted at 2 runs and Lytle came out a 8-3 winner on the evening.

All 12 girls listed healthy to play got into the game and contributed to the team's effort.

Macy Smith, Deja Darby and Sam Dear all had 2 hits for the Pirates with 6 different players scoring runs for the offense.  Smith also had a nice night in the circle, striking out 14 Greyhounds.

Lytle Pirate Softball raises their record to 19-5 overall and remain in 1st place in District 29-4A with a 6-1 record.  Lytle hosts Bandera Tuesday night and due to weather earlier in the year will also host Fredericksburg as well this Friday evening at Pirate Field.
