The stands were overflowing last night in Lytle as Black, Gold and...Green ....filled the bleachers and much of the empty space down the foul lines for the opening game of the Bi-District playoffs featuring Lytle and Pearsall.

Your Pirates jumped out to a 4 run lead in the bottom of the 1st inning thanks to 2 singles (Deja Darby, Precious Carrillo), a walk, 4 stolen bases, a Pearsall error on a hard Carli Diver line drive and Macy Smith's 10th homerun of the year.  Lytle stretched their lead to 6-0 in the bottom of the second to increase the momentum.  Pearsall pushed 1 across in the top of the third, but the Pirates answered with another 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th on a Darby triple and a Sadie Bippert double.

Lytle held on to the 9-1 lead, retiring Pearsall's offense over the last three at bats.  Macy Smith was dominant in the circle, scattering 3 hits and striking out 11 in the victory.

The girls regroup today and will head to Pearsall tomorrow for a 1pm game to complete the series.  If a game 3 is needed, it will take place 45mins/1hour after the 1pm game.

Thanks to everyone for the support and we will do our best to keep up the hard work!
